Devious Journal Entry

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 10, 2008, 10:27 AM
I went to Venice and did what I always wanted to do: I bought a mask for a ridiculously high amount of money (maybe not that ridiculous after all, bearing in mind the hardship of earning a living by selling artwork without beeing Damian Hirst ...)

A new term has started, so there won't be a frightfully lot of new artwork in the comming months. Not that there has been a lot in the last months... I have done some new pictures for this [link] project though, which sounds nice and will hopefully be a success.

Best wishes
Luisa

adding you to my list of watches, your work is just beautiful! I love watercolour paintings and illustrations, tho I lack the patience to try it myself.

 I doubt it, but it's so kind of you!

The colours are probably more Dulac-inspired, I think.

My pleasure entirely.
If I were believing in reincarnation, I'd say that Arthur Rackham has returned (with a sometimes stronger inclination to bright colours) :)

You should, I bet an etching made by you would look fantastic. It's nice to know one can print a picture over and over again.
And the whole thing isn't too hard, really. It's fun, even though it takes much time!

My pleasure. I agree with you that the man could have been a little darker, but the composition is great and I like your style:)
There is always something strangely attractive about etchings, at least to me, but I have always been too lazy to learn the technique myself...

First you draw a squiggle, turn the page upside down, draw another squiggle, turn the page sideways, do more, keep going until it looks like something, then finish it off!

I realy like your style. It has a kind of dreamy atmosphere and it is unique (which I always thought was one of the biggest compliments an artist could recieve, since it is not easy to develop a style of once own:))
