The Daffodils by cidaq The Daffodils by cidaq
Wordsworth's "The Daffodils".  Simple in form and content, yet very touching.
I seriously doubt that anyone will go to the trouble of actually reading the poem in the picture, but if anyone should do so and be familiar with its genesis, they will find that I missdated it somewhat. The version published in 1807 was shorter than the one rendered here. Wordsworth revised it some years later.
I should probably be less forthright about my mistakes. It would make me look much more erudite than I actually am. But I'm always afraid that someone else will notice and I am not very good at making excuses (except to myself).

Anyway, this was, as usual, done in ink and watercolour. I found out a little late that the steel nip I use for drawing is much less suited for writing.

That was a very beautiful poem. I love the way you formatted it around the picture.:)

Love the font choice, very art nouveau. Interesting idea. Is it through practice that you've gained your skill with ink?

This is very beautiful! I think the text is fine. I had to zoom in a little, but of course, I'm on the iPad.

This is one of my favorite poems of all time, and you really did it justice here! I love the composition of this piece, and how you combined the gentleness of the drawing with the busier, darker writing! I think perhaps the drawing itself could have used some more shading and highlighting, to really bring out the beauty :)

Thank you. More shading and highlighting would have taken away from the art nouveau-ish effect I was aiming at, though.

I like this composition a lot. I'm very fond of word/picture combinations, and this is sort of a modern twist to medieval texts, with the words split wherever the line ends, not according to any grammar rules. Very nice.

So well done! I love that you included the text, and the style of the daffodils and background is so beautiful!
