Description
Wordsworth's "The Daffodils". Simple in form and content, yet very touching.
I seriously doubt that anyone will go to the trouble of actually reading the poem in the picture, but if anyone should do so and be familiar with its genesis, they will find that I missdated it somewhat. The version published in 1807 was shorter than the one rendered here. Wordsworth revised it some years later.
I should probably be less forthright about my mistakes. It would make me look much more erudite than I actually am. But I'm always afraid that someone else will notice and I am not very good at making excuses (except to myself).
Anyway, this was, as usual, done in ink and watercolour. I found out a little late that the steel nip I use for drawing is much less suited for writing.
